About me

Senior Software Engineer building ERP, FinTech, and developer tooling

I’m António, a software engineer from Porto, Portugal with more than a decade spent close to the messy, useful parts of business software: ERP, retail, pharmacy, payments, compliance, testing, integrations, and the tooling that helps teams move faster without losing their grip.

I like software that makes complicated work feel calmer. A lot of my career has been about taking dense business rules, old systems, new platforms, and very real deadlines, then turning all of that into something teams can build, test, ship, and trust.

What I’m up to

Currently: Building scalable ERP solutions at LS Retail, working with Microsoft Business Central, TypeScript, AL, automated testing, and modern development workflows.

Learning: I’m fully on a Rust learning path now. I want the discipline, performance, reliability, and systems-thinking that Rust encourages, and I’m using it as a way to sharpen how I design tools and backend services.

Writing about: Business Central development, agentic programming, developer workflows, testing, and the practical side of building software that has to survive real users and real operations.

Quick facts

How I work

I bring a mix of product sense, technical depth, and a healthy dislike for unnecessary ceremony. I enjoy getting close to the problem, understanding the business pressure behind it, and then shaping a solution that is boring in the best possible way: maintainable, observable, tested, and easy for the next person to understand.

I also like making development itself smoother. Better tests, clearer workflows, sharper tools, useful automation, and now Rust-powered experiments all fit into the same goal: reduce friction so good engineering decisions become easier to make.

What you’ll find here

This site is where I share notes from the field: Business Central, ERP engineering, AI-assisted development, workflow improvements, and the occasional lesson learned the hard way.

Let’s connect

I’m always interested in connecting with developers and teams working around ERP, FinTech, Business Central, testing, tooling, or Rust.
